This is an introduction to sample products manufactured using the "Light Sculpting System (Rapid Prototyping)" at Iwamoto Model Manufacturing, which conducts in-house integrated production from prototype of resin and metal parts to small lot production. ■ What is Light Sculpting? Light sculpting is a three-dimensional layering modeling system that enables the production of master models and small lot mass production in a short time and at low cost. There are two types of resin used for modeling: a tough type (TSR-821) and a transparent heat-resistant type (SCR770), which are selected according to the application. ■ Features of Light Sculpting - Master models for vacuum casting can be produced (ideal for vacuum casting) - Excellent machinability (tapping, screw fastening, cutting, etc.) - Superior toughness (ideal for fitting models; parts can be assembled) - High precision of molded products (low hygroscopicity and minimal aging changes) - Painting is also possible For more details on light sculpting processing at Iwamoto Model Manufacturing, please check the "Catalog Download."
